Broadly, my research spans evolutionary ecology, animal physiology, and conservation, and aims to understand what drives between-individual variation within animal populations in nature in three great systems - Cinxia butterflies, Asian elephants and reindeer.
My research questions centre around host-parasite dynamics, sexual selection, and physiological responses to stress, in changing environments. I'm currently working with Marjo Saastamoinen in the Life-History Evolution group, based within HiLIFE and the Organismal and Evolutionary Biology Program and at the University of Helsinki.

Outside of work, I'm happiest outdoors - I'm a hiker, cyclist and sketcher of flora and fauna. I've also recently taken up amateur football, to the dismay of my teammates.
